What is Childrens Critical Illness Cover?
We hope we are never affected by a serious illness but in reality it can happen at any age.
Children’s Critical Illness Cover is automatically included on your policy at no extra cost. This insurance product covers many childhood cancers, stroke and benign brain tumour. Cover is valid for individuals at the age of 2 up to the age of 22 and applies to natural children, legally adopted children or stepchildren of the adult covered. This cover can be enhanced with Children’s Critical Illness Extra for an additional cost if they want more protection for an unlimited number of children.
What is included in the cover?
If illness is expected to lead to death within 12 months, Terminal Illness Cover is automatically included for all policies over two years. There is also help for when the benefit is due to be distributed, helping you stay in control of who and where payouts would be received in the event of your death by putting their payout into trusts. Payouts from policies under trust are probate-free so they are made quickly and fall outside of your estate for tax purposes. It is worth noting, this life insurance product is not a savings or investment product and has no cash value unless a valid claim is made.
