What’s next for the Ormeau Road?

Last week saw the demolition of the old Ballynafeigh police station…so what lies ahead for this part of the Ormeau Road?

The former police station is due to be turned into apartments – plans would see two new buildings comprising around 60 apartments in total along with retail space, landscaped courtyards and underground parking.

Further on up the road at the old Holy Rosary Church, the site could soon reopen as a boutique hotel. Hospitality group ‘The Galgorm Collection’ is behind the bid. The company plans to turn the old Holy Rosary Church into one of its Fratelli restaurants and develop the former parochial house next door into a 21-bedroom hotel.

Exciting times ahead!
